Benevolence Fund
Advent Anglican’s benevolence fund exists in order to support those in our local parish and community who are struggling financially. Funds are distributed at the discretion of the benevolence committee in order to assist with needs related to shelter, food, clothing, and medical expenses.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I ask for help?
If you would like to request assistance, please email benevolence@advent.church or speak with an Advent staff member.
Once you reach out, you will receive a request form to fill out and return to the benevolence committee. All requests remain confidential amongst the benevolence committee and Advent senior staff.
A member of the benevolence committee will respond to your request within a week.
What requests are approved?
The benevolence committee approves requests based on funds available and criteria for eligible expenses. Funds are used for needs related to shelter, food, clothing, and medical expenses.
The applicant must be an Advent Anglican member, regular attender, or an individual with a meaningful relationship with Advent Anglican.
See the full criteria for approval in the Advent Benevolence Protocols.
How can I give?
On the Advent Anglican giving page, click on “Give Online Now” and select “Benevolence Fund”.
Please note that the benevolence fund is not a budget line item, but rather a fund that grows through designated giving. Please consider giving to the benevolence fund as a special donation, outside of your regular giving to Advent.
Funds that are donated to the benevolence fund must be given directly to the fund and are then distributed to individuals based on the Advent Benevolence Protocols. We cannot promise that funds you donate will go to a specific individual.
Funds donated to the benevolence fund are tax-deductible
You can read more about the restrictions and regulations related to giving to the benevolence fund on our Advent Benevolence Protocols document.
